February

February 21-26 — Alabama River
Volunteers are asked to meet at 8 a.m. at 27 Riverfront Rd. Camden, Alabama. The day’s activities will focus on land and shore areas, and will wrap up by noon. This cleanup is sponsored by Wilcox Natural. Individuals who wish to participate should contact the coordinator for further details.

March

March 4-5 — Lake Eufaula (Chattahoochee River)
Public cleanup will be Saturday, March 5 at 7:30 a.m.  Volunteers will meet at the U.S. Coast Guard Station in Eufaula.  The cleanup will conclude at 11:30 a.m. with lunch.

Directions: The U.S. Coast Guard Station is almost directly across from the intersection of Highway 431 and Highway 82. Traveling north on Highway 431, take a right onto Chewalla Drive.  Traveling south on Highway 431, take a left onto Chewalla Drive.  The U.S. Coast Guard Station will be on your right.

March 17-19 — Lake Seminole

March 21-26 — Weiss Lake (Coosa River)
The cleanup will be held at various locations throughout the lake. Volunteers should contact coordinator for details.

March 26 — Lake Mitchell (Coosa River)
Volunteers will meet at Higgins Ferry Park at 8:00 a.m. The cleanup will end at noon followed by a picnic lunch.

March 26-April 2 — Logan Martin Reservoir (Coosa River)
The cleanup will be held at various locations beginning March 26. Volunteers should contact coordinators or the LMLPA website for supplies and further details. The community cleanup will be Saturday, April 2 from 8:00 a.m. and end at noon. A picnic lunch will follow at Lakeside Landing off Highway 31 south of Pell City.

April

April 4-9 — Lay Lake (Coosa River)
Cleanup will take place at various locations beginning April 4. Volunteers should contact coordinators for further details on supplies and areas targeted during the week. The community cleanup will be Saturday, April 9 from 8:00 a.m. and end at noon at Beeswax Public Boat Launch. The event will be followed by a picnic lunch.

April 9 — Lay Lake–E.C. Gaston Steam Plant (Coosa River)
Volunteers will meet at Richey’s Resort located at E.C. Gaston Steam Plant at 7:00 a.m.
The cleanup will end at noon followed by a picnic lunch. The cleanup is in cooperation with the Lay Lake HOBO and targets areas near the plant.

Volunteers should report to the Piper Bridge Boat Ramp at 8:00 a.m. The cleanup will end at noon. Contact the coordinator for further details.

Volunteers should report to Bonner’s Point Landing at 8:00 a.m. The cleanup will end at noon followed by a picnic lunch.

April 30 — Middle Tallapoosa River
Sites to be determined. Volunteers should meet at 8:00a.m. at large hay barn off State Road 22 in Wadley (first right past bridge if coming from Roanoke/LaFayette; last left before bridge if coming from Alex City/Ashland/Lineville). Volunteers should contact coordinators for further details on furnished supplies and areas targeted. Please contact prior to day of event. A hot breakfast will be provided for those who respond not later than April 27th. Additionally, free boat/equipment rentals will be available on a limited basis. This service is being performed in partnership with TallpoosaWilds.com

May 4-6 — H. Neely Henry Reservoir (Coosa River)
Cleanup activities will be held at various locations during the cleanup. Contact coordinator for further details.

May 14 — Weeks Bay
Cleanup sites include the shoreline of Weeks Bay, Magnolia River, Fish River and bridge crossings along tributaries. Registration is at the Weeks Bay Resource Center. Event runs from 8:00 a.m. to noon and includes lunch. Volunteers should contact coordinator for details.

May 16-18 — Smith Lake (Walker County)
The cleanup will target large blocks of white beaded foam previously utilized as pier flotation. The cleanup will be based out of Smith Lake Dam Boat Launch.

August 9-13 — Holt Lake (Black Warrior River)
Large items cleanup will be held at various location of the lake during the week. Volunteers should contact coordinators for details. The community cleanup will be Saturday, August 13 at Rocky Branch Park in Peterson off Highway 216 from 8:00 a.m. to noon. A picnic lunch will follow the cleanup.

August 13 — Upper Tallapoosa River

Volunteers will assist in a roadside and lake shoreline cleanup. Sites to be determined.

Volunteers during the week should contact coordinators for assembly locations. The Saturday, October 29 cleanup will be held at Highway 48 boat ramp from 8:00 a.m. until noon.
