Volunteers will meet at Higgins Ferry Park at 8:00 a.m. The cleanup will end at noon followed by a picnic lunch.

March 26-31 — Logan Martin Reservoir (Coosa River)
The cleanup will be held at various locations beginning March 26. Volunteers should contact coordinators or the LMLPA website for supplies and further details. The community cleanup will be Saturday, March 31 from 8:00 a.m. and end at noon. A picnic lunch will follow at Lakeside Landing off Highway 31 south of Pell City.

March 31 — Choccolocco Creek (confluence with Logan Martin)
Public clean-up. Please contact coordinator for volunteer/supplies/T-shirts/ BBQ lunch. Volunteers meet at Hwy 77 bridge/boat launch area. Clean-up ends at noon followed by free volunteer BBQ at Lakeside off Hwy 31 south of Pell City.

March 31 — Alabama River (Henry Lock and Dam to Pintlala Creek)
Depart from Holy Ground Boat Ramp at 8:30. Bring your boat. Trash bags will be provided. Trash will be collected at the boat ramp at 11:30. Sponsored by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Lowndes County Extension Office, and Alabama Power.

April 7 — Lay Lake–E.C. Gaston Steam Plant (Coosa River)
Volunteers will meet at Richey’s Resort located at E.C. Gaston Steam Plant at 7:00 a.m.
The cleanup will end at noon followed by a picnic lunch. The cleanup is in cooperation with the Lay Lake HOBO and targets areas near the plant.

May 4 — Coosa River (Georgia)
Renew Our Rivers with Georgia Power’s Plant Hammond, Georgia Power Northwest Region, and Keep Rome Floyd Beautiful will take place at Brushy Branch in Coosa on Friday, May 4, 2012 beginning at 8:00 a.m. Lunch and t-shirts provided for all volunteers. Please bring your boats. Gas door prizes for boats.

May 12 — Weeks Bay
Cleanup sites include the shoreline of Weeks Bay, Magnolia River, Fish River and bridge crossings along tributaries. Registration is at the Weeks Bay Resource Center. Event runs from 8:00 a.m. to noon and includes lunch. Volunteers should contact coordinator for details.

The cleanup will target large blocks of white beaded foam previously utilized as pier flotation. The cleanup will be based out of Smith Lake Dam Boat Launch.

August 11 — Upper Tallapoosa River

September 12-15 — Village Creek
The in-water cleanup runs from Wednesday the 12th through Friday the 14th, where volunteers will get debris and other items out of the creek. Each day starts at 8 a.m., and breaks at 11 for lunch. The community shoreline cleanup will be Saturday, September 15 from 8:00a.m. until noon. Contact coordinator for site locations.

Volunteers should report to the boat launch at the USACE facility in Ft. Gaines at 8:00 a.m. unless group has had prearranged to go straight to an alternate site. Please contact coordinator for specific details.

Volunteers will assist in a roadside and lake shoreline cleanup. Sites to be determined.
